It is a 16s AWC & Co type " Empress" which once held a Swiss movement "Langendorf".
Would another 16s size movement fit? ie: Elgin, Hamiltom, Waltham or Illinois?.
Is the square peg at the bottom of the crown fairly universal?.
Thank you for any help, I am very new to Horology

Welcome to IHC 185 Stephen,

I've recased a few Swiss movements in negative set cases that once held Waltham and other American movements too scabby or broken to warrant repairing.
As long as the stem on the pendant fits the stem in the movement, it should work, but the movement will have to be a negative set type.

Some case stems I've found can be a different sizes across the square too, so can depend which movement you get whether it'll work
You may also find that the stem will need adjustment to suit the movement being used too, and may not wind or set or both until done.

Check the dial layout too, as some orphan movements with dials, came out of hunter or half hunter cases, and the crown will be at '3' not '12'.

I'd put the case age to around the 1920's/30's.

Good luck on your search!

John
