I believe this watch to be french. On the face it reads Chronometre. On the inside one side reads Metal Argente. I take this to mean the watch is silver grade unknown. The other side is stamped with images of medallions and the words Remonitor Perfectionne. This refers to the winding mechanism as being of high quality. On the movement there seems to be a stamp of some kind of bird.

I believe it to be a variation of a Rosskopf Swiss watch, low end

The rooster (cock) stamp is French and was made in the village of Chateau-Thierry. From a french reference book, reprinted from 1850. Regards, Neal Nicely
