Once in a while I get to work on some very interesting watches, this one has a detent escapement, I have never seen this before hands are set by moving the bow forward.

The Swiss just didn't possess greater workmanship than can be seen in this fine example. .....click, ding, click, ding, click, ding, click, ding...that's nice!

Quite unique the sound of this escapement, the update step of the escape wheel is instantaneous no visible motion you have to look further up to confirm its actually running under power.

There is some explanation of the unique assembly of this "chronometer spring detent" escapement design shown a #5 styloe on Page 64 of the price guide.
