jewel movement ?
I know this may sound silly, but how do you know how many jewels are in the movement, i/e I have a watch 15j but I can only see 5j double that its still only 10 looking at the back, ???? Les Roll Eyes

Normaly you have 4 for the balance plus 5 for the lever visible 2 double 4.
The best way to explain this would be you post a picture

Also if you have the Price Guide it has an explanation of jewel number & location on American watches.

Some times to determine the exact number you also have to remove the dial. Some watches only had the jewels on the top plate but not on the pillar plate.

If your 15 jewel movement is an American made movement the jewels could be as follows:

1&2. Two hole jewels one at each end of the balance staff
3&4. Two cap jewels one at each end of the balance staff.
5. One roller jewel
6&7. Two pallet fork jewels
8&9. Two hole jewels on pallet fork
10&11. Two hole jewels on escape wheel
12&13. Two hole jewels on fourth wheel
14&15. Two hole jewels on third wheel

As Gerald said, a photo would help.
