According to Loomes, Rotherham & Sons, Coventry (Warx) Founded by Samuel Vale in 1747, became Vale, Howlett, Carr 1754-90, then Vale, Howlett, Carr & Rotherham, then in 1842 Richard Kevitt Rotherham & Sons 1850-1932.

From memory, Rotherhams made some quite decent watches.
I've sold off a few over recent years, but will have a root through my stuff and see if I've any movements left.
If I have, they'll most likely be English lever types.

Best regards

John

Rotherham & sons were located at Coventry. They made watches, watch cases and clocks.

By 1899 they employed 400 - 500 people plus about 200 outworkers and produced 100 watches a day.

1907 the english production of watches (all companies) went down to 74.000.

In 1912 the company went public and became Rotherham & Sons Ltd.
Finally the company closed its doors 1978.
