Ball Hampden Question (Serial No. 866973)
I have seen several sources that list Ball-Hampden Serial No. 866973 as one of the known early Ball-Hampden watches.

My question pertains to the ink illustration in George Townsend's book "American Railroad Watches". On page 17, the section for the Hampden Watch Co., Plate B2 of that publication.

It shows a drawing of this serial number 188973 movement. The movement markings on the barrel bridge are: "Patent Pinion", "Ball's Standard Adjusted", "Superior Grade", "Trade Mark", "Hampden Watch Co." On the top bridge, adjacent to the balance wheel, the illustration shows the marking "John C. Dueber".

According to the author, on page 2 of his publication "1. These are drawn to scale of actual watches I have seen or in my collection."

Can anyone confirm whether this watch movement was marked "John C. Dueber"?
