* a one star 16s Waltham Crescent St. I see them come up now and then but this one is pretty nice. The case is a 10k Rose GF Waltham with rose enamel shoulders. The bow is as stiff as it gets, and there is barely a nick on the case...don't think it was carried much. The dial is hairline free and the movement is really clean and keeps great time.

Based on the scale, this should be a 2 star as only 600 were made. It's a Type I Bunn Special 161.

Here's the movement...

If anyone would like to give me an approximate value on the above, I would appreciate it. Smile

Hi Tom, we don't discuss prices, you can check the fat book for that. As for the star rating on your Bunn, there were multiple runs of 600 made which actually puts the production closer to 3000 examples made and the reason the fat book does not have a star next to it. Prices in the fat book reflect the watch being the its correct model 29 bunn special case.

Hi Joe,
I think if you check the posts here, you will find that we do offer opinions as to the prices of watches, keep in mind they are opinions only, we as yet have not adopted the practices of some other sites, and do not have an valuation at cost board. What we do not do is discuss auction site ongoing auctions on the open forum.

Thanks, Joe and Bill.

Joe: I believe there were only 600 of this type made.

Hi Bill, thanks for the correction on pricing.

Hi Tom, I guess I see where you are noting a difference with your 161 now and I'm assuming it has to do with where the movement is marked sixty hour. I also own a 161 marked on the barrel but "sixty hour" is also on the barrel bridge where yours is marked "sixty hour" on the train bridge. My 161 serial # is 5440595.

Thanks for the clarification Joe...you were making me worried. Smile

There were about 3,500 like yours according to the Meggers and Ehrhardt Illinois book.

very nice Gary, very nice! I like how open the train and balance are. Can you tell me what No120 stands for?
January 23, 2014, 17:11
Gary E. Cochran
Joseph,
The 120 is just the grade number of the watch..I don't know that much about the Hampden watches but it looks like Hampden put the grade number on some of their watches...

When you guys post a watch can you type the serial number?

I had to stick a loupe in my eye, put one knee up on the desk and twist my already sore neck to to read one. Smile
