David AbbeLeon Harris puts the "Lady" back in a Lady Elgin
Earl McCranie, one of our new members, showed me a very clean Lady Elgin complete with a somewhat "used" up Hunter Case. Any Elgin Collector knows that a fully Case Lady Elgin (which were mostly melted for their gold) is rare indeed!
When Earl asked me if there was any way to make the case right, I had only one answer . . .
Call Leon Harris!September 15, 2009, 15:58
David AbbeFor those who are not familiar with the Lady Elgin, this one is a 10 size beautifully finished Key Wind, Key set movement deserving of any collection of fine art or watches!

David AbbeTo "Wrap up" this story, for $55.00 Leon Harris cleaned, adjusted and mailed to Earl a Primo condition Lady Elgin Case. I saw it before, and I saw it after and can only join Earl in saying
THANK YOU Leon for helping preserve another work of Horologic art with your excellence with Case Work

Mary Ann ScottLeon did an outstanding job on this case! It is heartening to see these solid gold cases kept together with the movements. And most of the ladies sizes had beautifully engraved cases! What they lacked in size was more than made up for with their cases. Thanks for showing it, Dave, and thanks to Leon for his work and to Earl for deciding to have it spiffed up.
