Paul D. TrombleyVest Chain marked Simmons .33
I'm thinking a chain that came attached to a watch I just bought might be solid 8K...
Can anyone confirm the meaning of a Simmons watch chain stamped 33 or .33 for me?
Sorry the picture doesn't pull enough detail to see the stamp. All I know for sure is that is not a date stamp and it is not a 1/10 or 1/20 mark.

Jon HartYou can use a loop and go around the chain to look for any possible brassing - on the inside of the links where they rub together or the extreme edges/high pts...
It sure could be 8k chain...
The reason I say to use a loop, is because I have had chains pieced together, and a section or end is solid gold, and the rest is Gold Filled

Buster BeckI am fairly sure I have never seen anything but gold filled in the Simmon's chains.

Paul D. TrombleyThe chain checks out, solid all the way. Net weight is 8grams.
The round clasp at the other end has what looks to be an inspection hole drilled through on the inside radius. So, I can see that even that piece is solid.
Pretty cool
How far are you from Yuma or Quartzsite Peter? I'll probably make that run again in late February or early March.
