Grade CCR Watch
Does anyone know what the CCR stands for on this watch. It is about an 18s Omega watch with a canadian type 24hr dial. I didnt know if this was a canadian market RR watch that the CCR stood for some railroad line or what.

Thanks,

CCR was a 19J movement, CCCR was a 23J movement and a similar difference was on the DR and DDR movements along with some other differences. It would appear that the CCR was the 'lowest' grade of the four but all were approved for RR use in Canada. Made by Omega in both 16 and 18 sizes as well as OF and Hunting cased. I believe that all could also be either lever or pendant set and were adjusted to 5 positions + temp.

For the Canadian market they were typically enscribed as this one with the 'Brandt et Frere'. I think if they were intended for the US they would have been marked 'swiss' on the dial.

Basically, very good watches.

Robert, how about a photo of the dial?

Looks like it brought a very good price. I had it on my watch list, but very quickly got out of my price range.
