Harold, I agree with you, this discussion is about whether or not these are worth buying at a "lot price". Maybe you could help Mike locate the correct dial too if he goes ahead with it!

Thanks to all who have read, and to those who have responded to this thread. FYI I did purchase the collection. I intend to sell a great deal of it and will use IHC as well as ebay to do so. At this time I am still tagging and researching but definately have some nice examples (and many not so nice). I wish to particularly thank Lindell and David for their patience and knowledge during our phone coversations regarding this group of watches.

Thanks again to all.

To follow up on this thread. I sent three of these four watches to Samie Smith for service. Today (still Friday here) I received two of them and expect the other on Monday. I got the 19 J Bunn and the 1892 with the rare dial back and the other is the Howard. I'll photo them again and post the "new' watches photos for all to see. Samie's work is impressive!

I just noticed another Santa fe Railroad Dial Waltham on ebay. There must have been a little run put together of the Cresent Streets with these dials. The one on ebay has a serial number within 300 of Mike's with the same dial. I thought for a minute that Mike was giving up the beauty!!!

Jared, I did have "the beauty" listed but with a $1500 start price. No bids, but lots of interest. I'll keep this one on my watch list and see what it goes for. I really won't turn loose of mine unless it is a good price. I really like the watch but I like money too. What a dilema! My understanding is that this is the 4th one I have heard of from that same serial number area so probably an original combination.

Interesting. That 1892 with the Santa Fe Railway System dial went for $600. I sure wouldn't sell mine for that. You never know what an auction will bring.

Here is the Peoria after Samie serviced it. Much cleaner now. I added a new crystal from my cabinet and now I think this is a neat watch.
