Star Case-Crown Question...
I have a nice Star case but the crown seems to be high-and has a slight wobble. I'm fairly certain it's the correct crown, but of course that's just my opinion...

Anyway, here's a pic'- and I'll give the "search" address of another Star case to compare-

Please give an opinion-wrong crown, or maybe stem trouble?

If this is the way you received it, it may have some interference in the insertion depth allowed into the watch, meaning it needs a possible shortening of the square end of the winding stem. (LAST RESORT!), OR . . . it is very hard to "snap" into the wind position.

If I had it I would first try to readjust the crown height by removing the stem sleeve, cleaning it, lubing it, and reinstalling it while adjusting it with a sleeve wrench until the crown snaps down as desired when is pushed into the wind "click" of the stem sleeve.

Dave, that is exactly what I was hoping to hear...I do not trust my own diagnoses until the patient is opened up and in pieces!

As long as you agree with my best guesses, then my fear of a surprise is minimal - I never forget that anything is possible.
Thanks for the benefit of your experience.
