Peter Kaszubskithat is what I have been trying to say to the seller
but he is an old goat stuck on high end price.

Eugene BuffardLet the old goat keep chewing on the grass.
The 189 to me is not that rare of a bird. The 181with 100 hunters and 100 open is a rare bird. And is 21 jewel. I'll compare my 181 hunter to the detail of dames keeping to the 189 any day.

Peter Kaszubskibut the 181 is hard to find as well I have been looking for the 189 for some time.
Perhaps some grass will do him good.

Eugene BuffardYes it is hard to find with only 200 plus made. How much Is he wanting for it.

Bill MandersHi Eugene and Peter,
What am I reading wrong about the grade 181.
I have a grade 181 and the data shows 6000 made, and mine is not a 3 finger bridge model ?
Mine is a full plate 18s ?
Bill
Now I feel really dumb, I am talking about a completely different watch, glad no one answered, hopefully that means no one noticed the post.

Tom DunnI sold my last 189 for 450, and that wasn't too many moons ago. At $850 I would offer him $500 max and pass if not agreeable. They're findable.

David AbbeThere were 5 variants of the 189 Getty three finger. 3 Hunter Variants and 2 Open face variants, all 21 Ruby Jeweled movements and all made around the turn of the century. Although the Hunter is often valued more than the Open face types, with the 189, the RR Grade of the OF probably balanced out the book valuation of either to $475.00 in extra fine condition.
Total Gr 189 production was nearly 1000 movements and all are actually simpler variants of the much more valuable Sangamo movements, $400.00 MAX would be my suggestion for a running movement in good case.

Eugene BuffardWell I found a grade 189 worth buying.
It does not hurt that it is multi colored gold filled.
