David AbbeAnother Hudson is Back on the Road!!
A few years ago, I picked up this Illinois Model 2, Transitional Grade 101 P/L Hudson, don't remember where, but it sat waiting in my stuff for a replacement early 3rd Wheel and a BUNCH of TLC! Finally it is "on the road again"!

David AbbeAfter some dial repair, hands, crystal, new (old) 3Rd wheel, and a lot of TLC another Hudson is "on the road again!. The 25 Year Gold Filled case body is marked "Ladds Patent, June 11, 1867 near the 11 0'Clock area, it appears to be a Newport or early Deuber given the "Fouled Anchor" Hallmark . . .

David AbbeThe All-Nickel "M/B" Monogrammed Hudson movement cleaned up beautifully. This was hand-fitted to the case by a Jeweler, no Doubt around 1880. Still keeps excellent time.
This one may go on sale, any suggestions for auctioning it on IHC185?

Richard M. JonesWOW! Is the case a Dueber solid gold? Looks like the raised anchor.

David AbbeDunno! The Anchor is raised but no "K" content stamp. The inside of the covers are sorta "non goldy". The Cuvette has a couple perimeter burns like the gold content was tested and there was some burn through

Jerry KingDon't see the keyhole on the cuvette for winding....Still, a beautiful old watch....

David AbbeJerry, It is a stem wind lever setting transitional. Early Model 2's were that way.

Jon HartDavid -
Are you going to keep or part with this old gem?
Transitional watches are pretty neat, imho!

Harold VisserThe case is a G. W. Ladd case, gold-filled, and usually a very good quality cases were made by Ladd. They used thicker gold stock then normal.....
