David AbbeIt is 1 of 100 pc's of 1896 production in Grade 61 made for Mr. Bugbee. I check the RR Watch Inspector's list and the 1901 record shows Mr. C.L.M. Bugbee is a RR Watch Inspector for the Boston and Maine Railroad! This watch is easily staying within RR Time Standards. While I doubt that a sterling cased piece like this was a RR watch, I have every reason to think that C.L.M.Bugbee saw to it that it ran to the highest standards, which it is still doing today. The watch inspector's book paid for itself just this one time out of the 25 or so times I have used it to qualify a private labelled piece.
