Buster BeckHAM USGOVT 992B TAG HELP !!!
Here is a yellowed paper tag with scotch tape over the top of it, I suspect to preserve it. This tag came with a Hamilton 992B US GOVT marked pocket watch. The tag was folded neatly in half and placed inside a black rubber pocket watch protector cover that the 992B came in. As I understand, these military ordnance contract watches came in a paper box with the black rubber protectors and with a leather strap.
OK- that leaves this tag

I believe this tag was with OR left with the watch in May 1959 possibly after a military watchmakers inspection, as the watch itself is an early 1940's. However, that's only IMHO, and I need someone's perspective as to whether there are other possibilities that I am not aware of. To me, it certainly reeks of what I would expect to find within an ordnance department, and a "shelved" label.
So now we would certainly welcome your perspective's, please

And ~Yo Mitch~ we are looking at the correct typeset from 1959, correct

Edward L. Parsons, Jr.Buster,
That looks like the type of label that was attached to the watch's original pull-apart cardboard box.

Buster BeckWell

It's about 1/2 inch too long to fit on the end of the pull apart boxes

I think

All I have at this time is a brown pull~apart for a 4992B, But as far as I know, brown or blue, the pull aparts were all the same size

The label is; 1" x 3"

So perhaps someone has a US GOVT 992B in the original box with label

I've not seen these type label markings on any of the box labels that I've seen.

bb
