Hamilton 992 dial identification

This Hamilton, serial # 1234188, year 1915 or so, is a 16 size, Grade 992, Model 1, and 21 Jewels with a chrome alloy defiance case serial # 5780272. The dial is double sunk and in good condition.
When I purchased it a number of years ago the seller indicated the dial was a "baby Ferguson" which meant nothing to me at the time, I bought it because I liked it and was in pretty good condition.
According to the seller the back of the dial is marked/stamped to verify the dial.
Without removing the dial can anyone give any indication as to what the dial is.

Nice Hamilton DS 24-hour dial but nothing to do with a Ferguson dial.

I would be interested what he was referring to on the back of the dial should you ever have it off.

You do have the correct shorty hour hand which I do not have on this 1920 example.

I just picked up a set on ebay that I hope are the same as yours.

The hands do look similar in shape to original Ferguson hands.

Hi Lorne, thanks. I have been poking around regarding the dial and I could not see anything after looking at a Ferguson dial to make me think the one I have is related, so I went to the "go to guys". Much appreciated.

I agree with Lorne, what you have is in no way related to Ferguson Patented Dials as you will see confirmed in the postings Debbie pointed to. There will be no legitimate Ferguson Patent markings on the back of that dial. Sometimes service personnel will write notes on the back of dials but what your seller claimed is at best incorrect.

Your dial is in fact an entirely correct Hamilton Script 24-Hour Dial for Canadian Time Service, what we expect to see in the pre-1920s time frame. Checking the Gelson List your number 1234188 shows up as 1917 production so the dial signature is right. The "Hamilton Script Signature" began to be phased out the following year and by the early twenties it was no longer used.

Debbie and Lindell, thank you very much for the additional links. I did do a limited search and from what I could see there was no relation at all to the dial I have...but just had to ask and verify my own conclusion.
