Ed,

According to the BOOK it says that your serial number, falls in the line of watches made in 1912. DON'T quote me, because I'm not good at Howard's but it also shows the arrow with the star that indicates the jewels which look like 21J, Adj 5 Positions, and 19J with V under star. Also, a picture of the movement would be better.

If you have the book, check page 263.

Of course, I hope a pro on Howards will tell us both if this is correct.

Yes Ed! Smile Picture!

Or at least tell us everything you find marked on the movement. Example, a similar number 1118753 is 16 size marked E. Howard Watch Co, Boston, USA, Series 2, Pat'd '08, Adjustment 5 Positions, Temperature, 17 Jewels, with arrow and circle in center.

Likely from 1912 as Sheila suggested.

Info on the Howard, #1114175, last digit was off.
It was going cheap for a Howard, thought I was missing something.

CASE
The open face 14K gold-filled case has plain back in excellent condition. The case is a “swing out” style with the front bezel/crystal screwing off the case & the movement swinging up. The signed case is in MINT condition with no dents or dings, & the hinge is tight. There is just a hint of light brassing along the edge of the bezel. The crown winds the movement & is in perfect shape. The round bow is tight & perfect in shape. The inside back of the case is marked “E. Howard Watch Co. - Boston” & “Keystone Watch Case” & “J. BOSS Extra”. The case is numbered 5425110.

MOVEMENT
The series 11 Howard movement is lever set & is in LIKE NEW condition with 21 jewels, signed “extra adjusted 5 positions & temperature” w/ ruby endstones. Movement number 1114175. The nickel plates are beautiful over the entire movement with no scratches or rust. Gold center train & gold weights on the balance wheel

DIAL/HANDS
The dial is double sunk with enamel & numerals in very good to excellent condition. There is a faint, 1/4” long hairline on the outer dial just to the right of the numeral 12 (at about 2 seconds). The blued minute & hour hands with spade ends are also perfect. The subsidiary (second) hand is also in perfect condition.
