It's pretty cool to get an email to say, look what I found... Buster built this watch over a period of time and shot me an email to share it with me when it was complete... it took awhile to convince him he needed to sell it. But here she is.

Burlington Hunter Display, 1907 M4 Gr174

As you would expect with Buster's items, it is first class all the way.

Dial and Hands

I would love to know more about these hands if anyone has any history on this style. It makes the face quite busy... but in an awesome way!

Front Cover, the wear on this case is nonexistent... not even any tool marks from opening the back lid.

I'm real fond of cases that carry the art work from the front to back lid across the body of the case.

and the movement. These seem to have that little bit extra in the damasceen. Very pretty.

Oooooh! What a case! I've never seen those hands but they're very complimentary to the rest of the watch ...in a very odd way! I'd be interested to know where they came from. Awesome watch!

Thank you Paul. Paul collects these and so I sold it to him. This is a wondrous & legendary famed griffin and you can almost hear the " S H R E E E I K " one would make and the terror in the heart of men that it would leave behind Eek

The hands are a set of two that I bought years ago and decided they were "owned" by this particular & legendary griffin. For the record, it is a Burlington case also.

I have some pictures of the hands in different positions that I will post to show the style and "sweep" of them, and a couple other shots as well.

regards,
bb

Anybody,

Again, The hands are fabulous! Who made them? I'm assuming that they're not factory and it really doesn't matter at all ...because it's the perfect package!

When I found the Burlington Woodsman of the World case a few months back, I knew I had stumbled in to the cat's meow of cool cases.

As it turns out, a search on IHC185 for "Burlington Hunter Display" yeilds a half dozen post going back to 2010.

There are quite a few of these out there, the trick is finding them in good condition and with the rear bezels and crystals in tact.

Thanks again to Buster for passing this one along... I'm not sure what was harder for him to let go of... the case, or those most interesting hands.
