U.S.W.Co., Waltham s/n 806086?????
This is a real "conundrum". I have 16s 15 Jewel, running U.S. Watch Co. signed Hunter Cased Watch in very good condition for restoration

and the stem wind lever setting Hunter Case movement appears to be a 15 jewel version of the U.S.Watch Co. of Waltham movement shown on pg 411 of the 2008 price guide. According to the guide, the LAST s/n made was 800,000, then all the assets of U.S.W.Co. of Waltham were sold to Keystone.

BUT . . . This movement is s/n 806086 and is signed; "United States Watch Co. New York, USA"! The U.S.Watch Co. of WALTHAM was NEVER in "New York USA"

Anybody have a clue about this little "wrinkle" in the History of U.S.Watch Co. of Waltham Movements?!

Dave,
The Beginning to End Book lists approx. production date of 900,000 as 1902. It also says that in 1901 they purchased the New York Standard Watch Co. Maybe there's a link there somewhere?

Maybe it was made by the U.S. Watch Co. (Marion). Or maybe it was a private label?
