Jerry KingA great story, Mark, and really a great ending....
Very similar to one of my experiences all because of this club and our posts....
You can go to this link and see what I mean....
Henry Ginnel It is really a cool feeling and very nostalgic as well....It is sometimes nice to get them back to the rightful owners....

Mark CrossThanks Bill.
I don't have that much invested in the watch and am just going to absorb the monies invested. That's me! Buy high, sell low!

Anyway, I am just sending it back with my blessings, and my congratulations to him that he was able to reclaim a lost family heirloom had somehow escaped from his family, and that he had no idea even existed.
The 185 venue helped someone else outside our group.
It pleases me.
After experiencing my Dad losing my Great Grandpa's railroad Elgin he was storing for me years ago, I have a lot more empathy for this type of thing.

It's heading home today.
Oh, and Tom Brown and Sheila, if you're looking in....he had never seen those documents either, or was even aware of their existance. He was tickled pink to see them and made copies. Thank you as well!
Regards! Mark

Mark CrossThank you Joe, but I believe we 'collectively' should be pleased with ourselves that this opportunity came about.
Without this site being here, the watch would have never come up on radar for the Crawford family, so in my opinion we ALL had a hand in its return home.

Larry LamphierWhat a heart warming story. It's really nice to be able to see this happen.
When my dad died he left a raildoad watch with a locomotive on the back for my brother. One year later the house and all that was in it burned to the ground while we were in school. My brother was heart broken.
It's nice to see this happen.
My hat goes off to you Mark!

Best Regards,
Larry
