James ShuttsHello Group,
Yes I am pretty happy. I thought this might hit $24,000, not far off. In this economy, I'll take it. The high bidder is someone I have not dealt with before. I don't know him but he lives in NYC. I'm just a couple of hours away, maybe I'll have to take a drive & hand delivery this one. Might as well get in some Christmas shopping well I'm there.
PS. This watch had the most action of anything I have ever sold. 43 bids, 245 watchers & 2,778 page views!

Sidney BelzbergHello Group,
I was the purchaser of Jim's watch. I am an avid collector of pocket watches(among many other things), mostly high grade Rail Road watches including Ball,Hamilton,Eligin,Waltham and of course Illinois Rail Road watches.
My grand father laid rail for the Canadian Pacific back in the 1920's so these type of watches have a special place in my heart.
I am lucky to have been able to acquire 5 different Waltham Canadian Pacific Railway watches as well as 5 Canadian Rail time service watches as well as some "T Eaton" watches (Galet movement) over the years.
I also collect many different complicated pocket watches with chronograph and repeater mechanisms.
Together with my father in law in Canada we have a wonderful work bench with great tools and enjoy fixing watches as well. We are amateurs but have amazed ourselves at the things we have been able to repair including watches with Fuse movements.
I would guess that we have approximately 1000 different watches. All with great stories.
Jim I emailed you through Ebay's mail system and it would be my pleasure to meet you in person at my New York Apartment. I actually have homes both in New York and Toronto. I am in Europe at the moment but if you can wait until Jan 2 I could you meet you in New York then.
Cheers,
Sid H Belzberg

Steve MiddlesworthSidney,
Beautiful watch. Nice to see that now belongs to someone in "our" family. Hopefully you can someday post some pictures of some of your fine collection with their stories. We love to look at pictures......
