If the Hamilton you won is s/n 461109; eBay listing number 280421553821 professed as a "rocket 88 that keeps RR time" the s/n (oddly) is skipped on the Gelson listing, but it would be around 1905.

In the period from 1900 to 1907 or so my Hamiltons have a double sunk Railroad type Arabic Numeral dial with a scripted "Hamilton Watch Co." for 1900 - 03, and just a scripted "Hamilton" in the latter years of that period. The correct hands were at the time I think Medium Spade for both Hour and Minute. The picture has a pretty beat up dial, but I think it is correct. Yours might only have the "Hamilton" word though.

Thanks David.
The s/n on this movement is 142346.
The movement is not marked 940, but it is exactly the same as another 940 i have. Is this a 940 or ajust a 18s 21 jewl movement.
Thank you Mike
Ps will try to post pic,s

Michael

The serial number shows it to be a 940 made in 1901, this was before the railroad standards required the movements to be marked with grade or model.

You can check the serial number on the Gleason list were are lucky to have on this site at;

Michael, The dial for that should have scripted signature of; "Hamilton Watch Co." as in the picture I posted above. The hands used could be medium spade.
