Lorne WasylishenThank you for the kind comments gentlemen.
As far as I know I am the northernmost member of IHC185 located at latitude 54.7.
The only other IHC185ers I know up this way are Bill Manders and Walter Colk at lat. 53.9
We have had several informal meetings of what I like to call The Hinterland Horology Club (HHC51, the 51 is arbitrary, the year I was born).
I know Bill has a few of these watches as well so Bill, this is a Waltham C.R.T.S./C.P.R. throw down.
5 years from today lets tally up who has the most of these watches and you, I mean the one with the least has to pony up for dinner, drinks included, for the 3 of us in P.G.
Are you in?

Lorne WasylishenThanks Michael, it is also lever set, I sent in a report.
I have also seen estimated totals of C.R.T.S. at 1450 and 1550.

Mike HodgeThat's a nice find Lorne, you make us all jealous.

Lorne, I have to disapoint you since I'm living at latitude 56.34 in Sweden. However, you might still have the bragging rights for being the northenmost member on the American continent.
BTW, a very nice watch.
Regards, Krister.

Lorne WasylishenMike, I guess the only way to get by that emotion is to buy more watches.
Krister, I can happily live with the American bragging rights. This gave me reason to look up latitude, each degree is about 69 miles and each min. about 1 mile so you are 75ish miles north of me.

Bill MandersLorne,
I guess we could move to Dawson Creek, that should ensure the northernmost lat. at this time, and I am still thinking of a somewhat witty response !

Joseph BooneThat is a beauty!

Ralph HopperLorne, I just noticed that one of my CRTS watches is just a few numbers away from yours. My #15112511 is a private label dial with the same numbers - Roman/Arabic - as yours as well.
October 09, 2014, 12:00
Lorne WasylishenRalph, does it have the arrows in as well? Pics?
I may have to start a thread on the different dials found on these C.R.T.S. and C.P.R."s.
The private labels generally seem to be in better shape as I believe most never saw service in the running trades.
Actually, by the type of chain and the condition of mine I don't think it was used on the railway neither.
I am off to Edmonton today for Thanksgiving and by happy coincidence there is a meeting of the Edmonton Watch Club which I hope to attend.
October 09, 2014, 13:06
Mark CrossHappy Canadian Thanksgiving, Lorne, by the way!
Regards! Mark

Lorne WasylishenThank you Mark, I ate a bit too much but had a nice trip.
I went to a meeting of the Edmonton Watch Club, nice bunch of guys. A "Hello" to Larry Buchan from Marvin Berger.
On the way back convened a meeting of HHC51 in Prince George. Just Bill Manders and I, Walter Colk is in the process of moving to a lower latitude so we will lose 1/3 of our membership.
Ralph, nice to see the same dial which legitimizes it for this run at least.
Peter, I have a dial on a model 1892 C.R.T.S 15005591(1906) which is almost identical to your 1892 C.P.R 20000160, but the fonts are slightly different and the 5 min markers are rectangular.
