I picked up this Seth, and although it looks pretty bad, I liked the movement, looks a little different to me, and it's 21J which I like. Have you ever seen this design on a Model 5 Seth? I see that in the book, the damaskeening looks a lot like the 16 sizes listed on page 396, however NOTHING like the usual Model 5 Seths.
All in all, at least I got a 21J, 6 Position watch out of the deal!

As your 21j Seth (albeit missing the regulator arm) is the second highest grade numbered series they made, only surpassed by the 23 Jewel 272, it is a rare and desirable Seth Collectable!

Exclusive of the "Maiden Lane" series, this is the "Top Of the Heap", in 18s Seth's. It was made with a double sunk dial, Patent Regulator, and two-tone Gold finish (sorta like my 17j in pic). How complete is yours, does it have a dial, case, hands?

I am not sure of my dial for originality, it is in too good condition to be completely plausible, but it looks nice. The book under the watch is open to Ehrhardt's descriptiopn of your watch. I think I have some good Seth Dials. So if yours can be coaxed to run, I would be happy to help with that effort.

The watch above is in need of a lot of parts. It's missing the regulator, Center Wheel, Balance Staff, and hour wheel!!!! and that's what I KNOW it needs, so who knows what it will need when someone looks at it?!!!!

I didn't even mention the huge line across the plate! No problem though, cause when I make up my mind, I just get it anyway.

I love your watch! The damaskeening is fantastic, and the movement is so clean.

I do have a Maiden Lane. I got it on ebay a while back, so take a look.

I will look for a Seth 18s parts watch in my stuff. Does this have a dial?

Well at least this fits the Open Face description the book gives it. It looks like you are missing the Cannon Pinion, and the Hour hand wheel, as you said hour wheel I thought you were referring to the first wheel that is engaged by the mainspring power. At least that gives us something to look for. I guess there is no dial, case, hands etc., either. btw the main wheel and seconds wheel should have their "shafts" protruding up from the face. Are they there?

Ray, I am "hunting the pile" of stuff to find the piece that may help revive Sheila's watch. I got this thing about a year back that was very disappointing, but has all the parts you and sheila need (I Think). I never bothered to take better pics, so this is what Ime looking for . .

It's a high jewel, 2-tone, but in pretty bad shape. I will get back when I find it.

Also this is a Pendant wind AND set, so it is no help to us except for me to enrich it's existence with a rehab. I will keep lookin for the right one, more piles to dig into.

I don't even have the watch yet, so I will post as soon as I get it. You may have to walk me through all the parts I may need, but hopefully we will be able to get all of them together.

Make sure you let Ray in on the parts, I can wait on this one, I intend to get my Maiden Lane serviced first anyway.

My watch looks pretty bad to me, but it was one I wanted, so I went for it. In the end if will probably run me more to fix it, than what it's even worth, but hey, I'm a collector, and sometimes you just gotta do, what you gotta do.

I hope we can find ther parts. An assessment is needed first just to see if it can be brought back to life. That other Seth you helkped get listed would make a good subject too.

Sheila, There is an eBay Seth that has about everything you need, including the right regulator staff, but (ironically) it is missing what you already have being the gooseneck part.

Weird, I have that one saved!!!! I have considered that one too!

I'm not really in a hurry to get them fixed, I just love having them. I have finally discovered that collecting is a "Time Thing" and I just can't worry about how many I need fixed, I want to concentrate on picking up the ones I want first, if they need repair or not.
