Who carrys what watch?
I will have to post a picture of mine. Nice to be here. Happy Thanksgiving to all.
Finally learned how to resize. This is my daily wearer.

It is what it is!

Hi everyone, I am new to IHC 185! Just paid my dues and registered a few days ago. I currently carry a 1923 16s Bunn Special open face RR grade in a gold filled Waltham case. I need to have a COA done on it soon but it is keeping perfect time.

Welcome to the club!

Sounds like you have one of the GREAT watches to carry.

Make sure your regulator whip is near dead center on the scale, or otherwise someone in the past has moved it to compensate for either gaining or losing time before a COA.

Watches can keep 'perfect time' with the whip shoved all the way over, but it's hard on the watch parts as they're working without proper lubrication and the wear and tear adds up.

Anyway, once again, glad you're here!

Regards! Mark

Thanks for the warm welcome! The whip is just about dead center and is running great but I have no idea when it's last COA was so I need to get that done asap, just for my own peace of mind.

This week I am carrying a common 940 Hamilton in a GF case with dog motif on the back cover. Attached is a leather strap with Kawanhee 1923 fob. I like the feel of this watch in my hand.

Today I'm carrying my 'Frankenstein' Hamilton 992B.

It has a 1962 movement, 1940's enamel dial, and a model 14 case from 1949.

Nothing a collector would even look at but for parts, but as a carry watch it keeps perfect time.

Works for me! Big Grin

Regards! Mark

Molnija 18j this week. Hasn't been serviced ever in over 30 yrs. and still accurate to less than 10 seconds a day. Hard to figure.

I carried an early 1st model 992 for a while. Then I saw this Swiss made 25 jewel beauty that I bought from Buster a while back. Been wearing it ever since. I wind it and forget about it. Every once in a while I check the timekeeping and it will be off maybe a half minute or so.

Works great for me!! Smile

Regards.
Larry

Thanks, William...I'm really digging my Elgin Veritas 376...so much so that I wore it again today at Church ...along with my Elgin B.W. Raymond 494 in the opposite front pocket. I often wear two pocket watches simultaneously in opposite front pockets...and today was a double-dog Elgin 'railroady' Sunday.

Just got a new Hampden to use as a "daily driver". This one is a 16s fully marked 19 jewel Railway, model 4, original bold Arabic DS dial and hands in a nice Keystone short stem silveroid swing ring case. These are one of the finest RR watches ever made, keeping great time.
