Who carrys what watch?
Ted,

the 19j Vanguards are cool too. I've noticed that a fair number of them have Canadian dials. This 645 came in a later case, and i put it in a period case. The newer case however is a J Boss wgf Waltham case with a loco on the back, so now I need to get a period correct movement for that. No 19 or 17 jewel movements for that puppy. This is my favorite 19j Waltham. Ebay with bad description and washed out photos.Looks and works ok, but the pillar plate was turned down to make it fit in the newer case. Unfortunately, this seems to be a thing for the higher level 1888s

Very nice looking 88 model Kevin!Cases for those are about non-existant I think, I have a 15J 88 model beautiful Riverside movement, have never been able to find a case for it.I got my Vanguard today,in a YGF case just like the one your 88 is in.Even still has its diamond balance endstone! Take care, Ted.

This week I'm using my "new" 16s 19J Waltham Vanguard LS, a 16s Vanguard like this has eluded me for years.Like all Waltham railroads, it's running right on time.Has original DS AN red-track dial, nice blue hands and a YGF RR case.

I just got 2 new ones, and I'm switching between them this week.An 18s 21J Illinois Bunn Special, and a 16s Hampden 21J John C. Dueber, both open-face.Rob Carter did another great job on the Bunn with a new staff and roller jewel. Both are running right on time!

and a private label dial , I used to think it had to be marked on the dial and movement ,but I saw an add that said they could be ordered either way . the name is C.S. Hauser ,Pittsburg Pa.

Nice Rockford Kevin. I think Rockfords kind of get overlooked but they made nice watches and some great looking 18s 2-tones.Thanks for the pics of my Hampden!...Ted.

Here's a newer one for me, a 21 jewel Waltham Riverside serial# 27657028, pendant set, so it's not Rail Road grade, but it keeps time to a half a minute a week. Nice Mainliner type case.

Wore my 23J Elgin BWR 494 the other day for one of my last flights in the MD-88/90...it's being retired from our CVG base as well as from our Delta Air Lines fleet.

I fairly often wear my railroad standard pocket watches at the office..."scheduled passenger service"...Cool

I wear a titanium 2002 Omega Seamaster James Bond Chronograph. Its my daily watch. Haven't thought about carrying around a pocket watch, yet.... If I do it will most likely be a Hamilton 992B with Montgomery dial, like my grandfather wore when he was an engineer for the Seaboard Coastline Railroad from 1940-1977

It is what it is!
