Appleton Tracy in Unusual Case
I just bought this from Leonard Abbott and we are both puzzled by the case. The entire outer case is a silver color, but the everything on the interior is a gold color with almost a copper tinge to it. The only case markings are M.C.E & Co., a star and serial #H2615. The crown is gold colored, the stem is silver but if you look closely you can see gold in the groove. I Google'd and came up with no info on this case maker. My best guess is a gold tone wash over a silver alloy type material. The engraving is still pretty crisp, so I don't think it had the wash. Has anyone ever come across this case maker or finish?

Movement is a model 1877, made in 1883, 15 jewel, quick train. The Waltham serial # database lists the style as FS. What does the FS stand for?
