Does anyone have a 20-21j full plate Elgin lever set watch that have grade 150 serial numbers and are willing to take some pictures of the lever mechanism and the area on the side of the movement where the winding mechanism is, or even willing to pull the dial and take a photo and post it. As a bonus if anyone has an Elgin grade 277 can you do the same and note that it is a grade 277?

Pulled the dial and "shot" the Wind-Set . . . but alas, I did not read your request carefully as this is a Pendant set. Well . . . I hope it helps anyway . . .

Dave it is good that you did what you did since it makes it easy to show people if they only take it out of the case and it is a lever set but they see it has the notch that you took a good shot of and there is nothing there then it is a model 5 converted to a model 7. All 277's I have seen so far have the remnants of the mounting points and this notch that was made to fit part of the spring mechanism for the normal model 5 pendant set. If it doesn't have the notch and it has a serial number for a grade 150 then that is another type, but the photos help.
I have two of these lever sets that from the serial number are grade 150's but why would Elgin create a special grade (277) for less than 200 watches and not take these watches into account, if a lever set grade 150 was a valid grade 150 then why even create a grade 277. With the pictures maybe it will be easier to make sense of these strange lever sets.
