My E Howard, back from repair
This is the third watch I sent to Samie for repair. You may remember it as one of the "Opinions sought on these four watches" thread.

Samie did a fine job and Leon Harris repaired the case lift spring. So now I'll post my Finest Watch In My Collection!

The photo on the cover, purported to be David Abbe's mother. LOL

Dial and Hands #1

Final dial. I really like this watch now that it's running and fully functional. Harold Visser pointed out the dial is from a different Howard, but until I find a suitable replacement, I like it the way it is.

Mike, Other than what Mike L. said, whats left.... except to say that Sammie and Leon have lived up to their highest of standards....the watch is simply gorgeous and I wouldn't change a thing, not even the dial....do you even know what the "correct" dial should look like...?

It definitely is a keeper, it is definitely a keeper.... Big Grin

Beautiful watch. Are the hour and minute hands mismatched?

Mike Hodge
I do not know about the hands. They are opposite facing "umbrellas" but don't know if that is how they were intended. Someone will know.

I would say the hour hand is a replacement, it also seems to be darker in color like the Swiss repacement hands tend to be.

I have looked at ebay auctions and compared the hands and I agree. Hope I can find a replacement that is correct. Still a darn fine watch!

Mike, check with Brian C., he may be able to help you with the hour hand....

Mike,

Absolutely it is a beautiful example of a fine E. Howard. Matching up the hands should be pretty easy.
