Robert V. JonesMy First 12s Ball
Looking through some of the watches I recently picked up to list I found a Ball that went unlooked. I have had a 0s ball ladies watch and many of the 16s-18s but this has to be my first 12s and what a beauty. I will have to rub on this for a little while before listing.

Robert V. JonesI also found a model 410 Illinois in a nice odd shaped case which were both nice suprises after the 24J Bunn let down. To bad these 12s do not demand the attention that the larger 16s do they are such nice watches.

Robert SchusselRobert
Your 410 is a hunting movement in an open face Mannhiem case with a special dial that did not have a seconds bit.
The collective wisdom is that when Illinois had problems moving their hunters they started to put them in open faced cases with a special dial to make them look like an open face watch.
I have a 21j A. Lincoln Hunter in the same type of Mannhiem case and Hurricane520 on Ebay recently sold a 410 that was identical to yours.
For 12 size collectors an interesting and scarce example.

Robert V. JonesSharp eyes I did not notice that when I looked at it and went back and noticed where the forth wheel was located and seen you were right. Boy nothing gets past these guys in 185 Amazing

Jerry TreimanRobert - you should also note that your Illinois Ball is a very early example. These started in their own number series at B400,001 so yours is #130 out of a reported 8,000. Most of the first ones were in this same case style and with similar dials. The earliest one seen is #32 with a Christmas 1926 presentation.

John JohnstonSee Rob just like Lindell said. It all averages out. I hope you list both the 12 size here at the 185. There are some serious 12 sizers about the membership, myself included.
Great watches Rob.

Robert V. JonesThanks for the info I will try the 410 first but want to rub on the ball a little. Good thing I am not wealthy I would not sell half the watches I get.
