Robert Schussel17j Interstate Chronometer Hunter
One of my favorite Illinois private labels is the Interstate Chronometer. What I like about this private label is that like the Ariston and Washington Watch Co. is that the plate layout is different --it is not just another Illinois with a different name on it.
The Interstate Chronometer was made for Sears,Roebuch & Co.by Illinois. According to Meggars and Ehrhardt this Grade was only made in 1911 and came with a Dueber Case.
An ad for these watches show a 12 size 17j Hunter in a 25 year case for $22.65 while the 21j version went for $35.70
The 12 size hunter in the pictures is a grade 273 17 jewels Adjusted, in a run of 100. According to Meggars and Ehrhardt a total of 150 of these Hunters were produced in 1911.

Robert SchusselThis is the way the movement looked prior to Chris Abell cleaning it. I don't know if it was WD 40 that gave it the nice green color.
