Buster BeckNice coin case on this Bunn with Gilt plates. Research shows only 400 Bunn's made like this one from 1880 with the patented Chalmer's Regulator which makes it 137 years old. After that many years, today we are surely left with around 10% of those 400 meaning there are probably only 40 or so of these left out there to go around !!

Michael BarlowA little story on this one.
A while back I posted about a case that nothing seemed to fit in. Well on a lark and not much invested I purchased an inexpensive nonrunning Elgin 86 with dial and hands. I took the mvmt and case to my watchmaker and asked if it fit. Very cool it does. So after an overhaul here it is. Now I do know the warts ....bezel is the wrong color gold, probably a re-plate but what the hey any bezel is better than no bezel and there is some corrosion on the regulator that does not come clean in the ultra soud.
A perfect addition to my 3 finger bridge collection.

Michael BarlowCan anyone tell me about the case marked Springfield. I haven't had much luck on my own.

Steven FordMichael, Very nice 3 finger convertible.
I got a nice Hamilton 16s Hayden W. Wheeler 21 jewel Open face Lever set the other day.
Serial no 275274 . It is marked Hamilton Watch Co. not H.W.W.Co.
June 11, 2017, 14:47
Steven FordHere's the Movement. Does anyone know when it was finished and who it was sold to?
June 11, 2017, 19:08
Bila Wirriganwaltersdefinitely a Hayden Wheeler marked or not, finished 09/03/1904, from the run 275202-275460.
June 11, 2017, 19:58
Steven FordThanks, Bila.
Would there have been more of these marked H.W.W.Co. or Hamilton, I wonder.

Seems to be the same quality as the 990, with all gold train wheels, double roller, steel escapement wheel, and gold jewel sets.
Great time keeper too, within 5 or 6 seconds a day.
