Unknown Hamilton Dial
Can our Hamilton Experts give me some help on this one....

I have had this dial for awhile but have no idea where it came from or which Hamilton movement it should be used with....

I have looked at our data on the Hamilton dials and cannot find any like this one....

Off hand I would say it is from the 1920s era and probably used on a dress watch of sorts....

Any info would be appreciated....

Regards,

Jerry

You are right Jerry, it's a dial for a gentleman's carry watch, circa 1918-1920's from the block letter signature.

Most all the dial info on IHC185 pertains to railroad-style dials, and this is not a railroad dial.

I've seen a lot of these fronting 17j movements when prowling around antique stores.

What's amusing is they're ALL called 'railroad' watches there.

VERY nice dress watch dial, that's for sure, as Ed says.

That is what I figured it was and it is a nice dial....I can't see anything wrong with the loop....

As Ed suggested that because of the data put together here on site is mainly aimed at the railroads and this one is not a railroad dial it won't be listed....

I wonder how many different dials Hamilton made.... Eek

Thanks for the replies and maybe I'll find a place for it one day....

Jerry

Jerry I have that dial on a 954 and sometimes the simplest designs take the prize for attractive elegance. A very nice dial indeed.
