Elgin grade 20 pallet fork
I have a movement that I would really like to have running. It would be the oldest Elgin in my collection. While taking it apart I broke the lower pivot on the pallet fork.
I have looked all over and some sites do have some arbors, and I probably could change one. But they require part numbers to reference the correct arbor. Would anyone here have that info or know where to find it? The movement is a HH Taylor serial 157045. Here is a picture of my disaster. Frown

Looking up your serial number & grade 20 my Elgin book says that is a class 3 & the book states the part for a complete pallet, fork & arbor is # 615, the book states for these there are two different ones, the difference being the thickness of the jewel or stone required, those taking thin ones known as New Style, the thicker the Old Style.

The arbor itself is part # 5

Jim, any chance of posting another photo looking down on the pallet fork, maybe held in tweezers or some radico. In my parts movements I could see if I could find you one. My book has a drawing of what it is suppose to look like but it is from a different angle & I just want to make sure I look for the right thing.

Eugene, it is fine with me if you check yours, it is not a fast thing for me to do with all my junk.

I also found these parts for sale but it looks like some work would need to be done to make them work;

Thank you Tom and Eugene. Per Tom's request I took a few more pictures from different angles. Let me know if you need more.

Thanks for the photos that helped. Also my book apparently is in error because yours is like part number 616. I thought their drawing & your 1st photo looked different. I rechecked everything & they still show the other number but in all the ones they show only the 616 is like your photos. It doesn't have the two different styles such as old or new so that should cut down the number to check for.

I thought I had one but it also had a broken arbor. I will keep checking.

Here is what I have Serial # 3,320,331. It is only a 7 jewelThe rest of my pallets are in a jar and I have to look at each to see what the brand they match. I thought there where more in the drawer marked Elgin. I keep looking there should be 2 drawers marked Elgin. Just where did it go.
