PHILADELPHIA WATCH CASE CO.- GOLD OR NO?
Who can settle this arguement for me? A friend tells me my case is not gold rolled or plated; I believed it was.
It says "PHILADELPHIA WATCH CASE CO." in a circle with a crown in the center; underneath is the word "VICTORY"...and that's all-no "warranted 20yrs." or such-that would end the arguement,of course.
I was certain this is a gold mark, but my friend insists the word "victory" implies differently-that it's an alloy. Is that possible? Could it be a GOLD alloy? Not that I ever heard of one...
Anyone know? Thanks - Marty

Hello Marty:
Your case, according to Roy Ehrhardt, in his "Trademarks" on Page 67, "Victory" denoted rolled gold plate - 10 years.
Cheers!

Thanks Joel-that sounds like a book I'll have to get.
