I see it is also marked JAS Boss'Pat. This is I believe a marking for a gold filled case.
It looks to me to have quite a few of case markings that would make sence as these were good advertising pieces.

Interesting.

Aaron's evaluation makes sense to me as well.

More than likely they were promoting both silver and gold-filled cases.

Ya know, I think you guys are right! It was, after all, an advertising item.

I like this one because it has the "Coin" on it, and what you can't see is, that it has my "Good Friend" Mr. Lissauer on it too!!!

In case you don't know, he is the maker of my "Pansies" I think Mr. Sondheim is on there too, I will have to check.

All in all, my collection of Pansy and Ad information, along with a nice case opener is growing, and that's a "Good Thing"

I checked, and YEP, Mr. Sondheim is on it too, so that makes it older than I thought. It also has another name I don't know, so maybe one of you have heard of him. DH Lowman, so if you know about him, let me know.

I have one of these on my key ring.It has an ad for
J.Ferd.Pietz,
Watchmaker & Jeweler,
80 Calhoun St.,
Fort Wayne, Ind.
I like this because it is made of a metal that is hardy enough to stand rough wear.
The hole in mine is in the center.

Julian,
I gotta say that I like them too. I have another one with Lissauer & Sondheim on it, and I use it all the time. It's a strong one too, and works great.
They are handy little items huh? I don't seem to have problems with scratching using them either, like with other things I have used in the past.

You have a nice one with plenty of information on it, I like those the best. I hope to find more too.

Post a picture if you can, I'd love to see it.
I will post one of the other side of mine when I get it.
