Edward A. HustonNew Haven radium pocket watch
Happy Monday all.
I was in a little antique store this weekend and a pocket watch caught my eye. Marked on the dial was "New Haven" under that was the word "Motor" and at the bottom was "Radium". The numbers were slightly faded but were most definitely that wonderful radioactive green color.

I couldn't readily pry the back off to see what was inside. The glass was cracked, it wasn't working, and they wanted $65.00 for it, so I just left it there. Which, of course, makes me wonder if I should be kicking myself right now. I am not familiar with New Haven watches and was just wondering if anyone had any info on them or any links to information for them.
Any thought would be, as usual, most appreciated.
Thanks,
Ed

Brian C.Ed,
$65.00 would be what you would expect to pay for that watch in good running order, needing no repairs. You did good to leave it where it is.

Edward A. HustonWhew!
I was really hoping that this wouldn't turn into one of "those" stories about the one that got away. I guess listening to your gut actually DOES work sometimes!
Thanks for the input!

The guide gives an average buying price of $30.00 for that watch & $60.00 in mint. As Brian & your gut told you it was a little steep.
