Correct hands??
Am I mistaken, or are these correct hands for a 992B #C54849 = 1943?

Or is this the wrong dial? I was thinking that these hands came with the SS dial

Thank you for any help.

Regards,
Larry

Larry.
They are correct. I have one just like it with serial # C53945 and the same case. It's a signature #2.

Because the year of production is 1943. The hands would be correct because there was a shortage of metal. They would only be correct during the war years.

There have been many post on this subject.

I'm sure some of the Hamilton guru s would be able to find it in a flash.

I also have one; had same question when I bought it...I confirmed with Ed, et. al before buying...now one of my favorites...love these war time issues...great history. Always think about the treasured few veterans of WWII that remain.

Thank you everyone. I had an Idea it was correct. I just thought that I had seen some with the SS dial and it started me THINKINHG! Wrong thing to do!

So true Gary about the WWII Vets. How soon we tend to forget. We owe them so much!! It is nice to have things like this to bring us back.

Just do a search on diamond crossbar hands and you should get a lot of hits. That style hands, as well as certain non-standard dials and cases, were common on the Signature Type 2 992B's.
