What does the screw with the arrow do? And what is the arrow telling me? Hard to imagine it means righty tighty lefty loosy.

What market were watches adjusted to 4 positions made for?

I figure I have a 50/50 chance of getting her running... nice to have Dave near by for when I get in over my head.

The 219 is a nice piece of work, and rare as are all of the <500 K South Bends ever made.

Four adjustments and pendant setting makes it "Electric Rail Legal" and the well finished 19 Jewel movement could well have been 5-position RR adjusted by any competent watchmaker.

The little arrow thing is meant (I think) to indicate when the screw it encloses is switched into mainspring let down mode. If you bring it over we can check that out very easily.

Overall this is a very nice carry piece as the pendant set is much more "user-friendly" for everday use where us "citizens" may not always remember to keep it wound.

I think the 219 is pendant set watch and the little arrow thingy when turned lets the watch be wound without putting pressure on the bench winding key.

We are all saying the same thing. I turn the arrow screw to lock the crown wheel to the mainspring so I can safely let it down without it jumping back to "set" resulting in that unsettling "zeeeiinnng" sound when the mainpsring "supersonically" unwinds out of control.
