Jon HartTo save or not to save -
With nice 18sz Hunter Cases going through the roof what is a fella to do? I stumbled upon this sad, not to common or at least they do not surface very often in my neck of woods, silverode hunter case.

Jon HartDid you see the Golden Goose on the previous photo?
Apparently, finding a silverode bezel is next to impossible - yeesh... Who is hoarding them ??? I will pay $$$
So, after slowly and painfully filing the inside lip of a Gold Filled bezel to make it fit properly, the end product is a pseudo two tone case - I guess

Jack MarshI like em. They look OK they wear good, and I hate sidewinders. I have a couple like that and for me they are fine.

Jon HartI know it is not original, but get over yourself...

It is starting to grow on me, I think... And the 941 is happy to get out of that open face case.

Jim BielefeldtI have to believe that getting the bezel nickel plated couldnt cost that much and then you have a real nice case. If not, it doesnt look that bad.

Gary E. FosterJon, I try to save any case, regardless of material or style. Picked up a similar silverode hunter a while ago, a Keystone, doesn't have the coin edge like yours, and also transplanted a 941, made a nice carry watch for me.

Mike HodgeI too had a Silverode HC with a brass bezel. I had the bezel nickel plated by Don Mathis and it looked spectacular. I can't remember what I paid but it was well worth it.

Jon HartThanks everybody...
Mike - Who is Don Mathis?
Gary - That is too funny that we were both looking for an inexpensive home for a 941. A Hamilton thing?

Mike HodgeDon is not an active poster. he is a custom jewler and casemaker, basically an artist in metals. It was several years ago but $20 seems to click in my mind. I'll send an email with his contact info.
