The year 1912 - Elgin made Grade 407 PocketWatch
Can someone tell me why a watch that is 403 out of a 1000 production run, and who knows how many of the 1000 were actually made, is not in the price guide and why isn't it at least a two star rarity.

It is a 21j, A3P, special dial, size 12....

I don't think Elgin gets it's full rightful respect.... What say you....

Regards,
Jerry

Jerry,
I couldn't agree with you more!

Elgin's, at least to me, have always been kind of "misplaced" in the collectors world.

Elgin is my favorite watch, even after finding a great deal of interest in other watches, and I know that there are a few others that appreciate them too, but it is a watch that is overlooked way too often. (in my humble opinion)

I must also add that my interest in other watches has increased, but Elgin's remain my favorite.

Just because I like the look of all of them.

Now I know that says nothing of the inovations in watches, jewel counts, and how rare they are, and that is what makes the difference for some.
However, to me, it's just the style of an Elgin that catches my eye first, and then the other "goodies" they have.

Also, you can't forget PRICE, and for some, that is what makes a watch. Nothing wrong with that at all. However for me, it's not the "First Love" for me. I gotta like the watch first.

Don't get me wrong, I value my valuable watches, and give them the respect they deserve, but I wouldn't trade my Pansy for any other watch.

As far as the watch listed above.......

Check out that unusual dial! WOW!

Look at that Fantastic movement!

and your right! only One Thousand made!

I even LOVE the hands on that watch.

Now THAT is a great watch to me.

Is it a 14s dial like some are supposed to be?

and last, check out the seconds dial, is that unusual or WHAT!!!!

Who doesn't love the jewels?!!!

Thanks for posting it Jerry, I love it!
