unusual pocket watch key
The other day on the big auction site I saw a winding key I'd never seen before. This one has a ratchet setup inside the key. What a great idea, would also probably prevent you from turning the hands backwards when setting the watch.Anyone who collects key-winders ever seen anything like that?

Ted,

Dave Abbe had a few.. I missed out on buying some from him and have not been able to find one I could afford since then. They don't pop up that often, but they are around. I'd love to have one too if anyone has a stash.

I collect pocket-watch keys, but they don't have to be ratchet-type (I don't have one of those).
I've seen some pretty elegant examples. Trouble is, a lot of the best-looking ones are English, and do not fit American timepieces. 'That gets me down,' as the [British] like to say.

Thanks Paul & Ken, the one I saw as a gold one, the price was right up there!I guess they were for "high rollers".A lot of pride went into making fancy watch keys, that's for sure.
