Richard JohnsonIs this Case Correct for this Movement
Hi,
I'm working on putting together a collection of Hamilton factory cases with the correct movement, case, dial, hands as it would have been cased from the factory. I've been using the info on IHC to help determine if the watches are factory cased.
The watch in question is a Hamilton model #7 in a WGF case #75787 with a 992E movement #2622109.
The movement is from 1938 to 1939. I can't find info on what year the case is. According to what I could find in 1938 and 1939 a 992E was factory cased in a model 2 and 10 only.
Maybe I'm just not using all the info available to me on IHC and it's in plain site but I haven't come across it. I'm finding new stuff everyday and still learning to navigate around this great site.
Is this watch below correct?
Thanks
Rick

Michael P. McNameeThis is a really cool "short list" of post 1924 Hamilton factory-cased watches.
Now, what would also be very interesting would be to get an idea of which pre-1925 Hamiltons were or may have been cased in Hamilton factory cases. For instance, I have a ca. 1919-1920 950, movement serial # 1375938, housed in a clam-shell Hamilton "Permanent" case # 10881285. The antique dealer I bought it from was pretty confident that the case was original to the movement, given the provenance the original seller provided.
Anyone aware of any data on this issue? Perhaps some original research is in order . . .

Richard JohnsonLindell,
The watch I posted is one that I'm considering buying and it is from a guy in Canada. I don't know any of its history but will see if he does.
If I understand you correctly, it is still possible to be correct but the case would be made in Canada??
I have so much to learn. It's only been a couple of months since I started getting serious about collecting Hamilton watches and learning about them.
