Norman SponholzGM Wheeler 3 finger bridge grade 337
When I'm out and about I use the pocket watch database website to check prices. So I plugged in the SN: 13629537 for my 17j 3fb grade 337 and the price seems way off (to good to be true) average is $559 & high is $1685. I don't have the book on me but I think it's in the $200 range. Why is there such a big difference in the price guides? I wish the higher was correct but I'm sure it's some glitch

David AbbeNorm, The GM Wheeler movement alone has some value just for condition. Roy Ehrhardt's 1980's Price Guide puts it around $20.00. The Big Book floats the 3 finger GM Wheeler around $80-$150.00 but that beautiful case should easily add $250-$300.00 + which I expect should put the "insured value" for the whole watch close to $500.00.
The database prices sound more like they were pricing it with a solid 14K gold Hunter case.

Claude GriffithI agree with Dave, the 337 is a nice movement but not like a 155, 243, or 341 17j 16s Elgin grades. The case is a huge bonus, so some figure 500 +/- as mentioned is probably more in the ballpark.

Patrick WallinNo matter the value. That is a beautiful watch in any collectors book.
Some of the things we own are ours and there is no price listed on our prize positions. Also I agree with David.
