Waltham pocket watch
I have a Waltham pocket watch serial number 35001913. Size 16 with 17 jewels. Movement says Waltham Watch Co. Also on the movement it says SEVENTEEN 17 JEWELS. NEXT TO THAT IS SAY "UNADJUSTED SWISS". The only other markings are WXTO. I checked out the serial and it seems to have been manufactured around 1957. I have included pictures. I was checking out this watch and the NAWCC and you need a bullet proof jacket to mention a Waltham Swiss. It was very heated on their forum. So saying that I am not trying to make anyone mad or ruffle any feathers. Move me to Swiss if you must.

Please put away your bulletproof vest! Your watch is a legitimate collectible Waltham Swiss made with the correct serial numbering. It is a 1957 vintage, and while it may not be valued as highly as a 23J W.I. Vanguard HC with 2 pr diamond end stones it remains a legitimate collectible Waltham as do the similar 25 Jewel versions.

Now some NAWCC "critics" might take exception to my beautiful, good running Swiss "fake" model 1857 Waltham that is only legitimate as far as the case goes.

It keeps good time and was sold to me in earlier years by an NAWCC member as an "1857 Waltham", so I guess some of them are less distinguishing in their eminent judgement calls about these things.

In the dying days of pocket watches several companies had there movements made in Switzerland.
Hamilton, Elgin and Hampden did this. I also have a 12 size Illinois Burlington that is Swiss made.

While the purists turn up their nose at the mention of these watches I like to collect them as examples to illustrate the dramatic decline in quality that occured.
