What is the best way to remove scratches from watch crystals? Also, what is the best way to clean a case? Thanks.

Eric UnseltNew glass crystals are only $10.
I've got a deep L&R ultrasonic tank for cases; it removes the stuff trapped in the hinges and inside the pendant neck (pull the stem first).

Paul D. TrombleyOn occasion, for crystals that are hazy from ultra fine scratches, I buff them on a cotton wheel with the same rouge I use to buff silveroid cases.
This will not clean up deeper scratches, but will make them less obnoxious.
Depending on the starting condition, some crystals come out looking like a million bucks... some are hopeless.
I do this free hand with the crystal out of the bezel. Focus, focus, focus, there are no do-overs...
Attempting this with the crystal in the bezel risks ruining the bezel and is impossible to clean the seating groove.
In dollars per hour, it doesn't make a lot of sense to bother. Peter's $10.00 offer is hard to beat.
