This is my question, after a tough year,I am planning to buy a pocket watch, this is my one thing that I do every year with my tax money that and put the rest away for my son's college,But I am torn between these, Hamilton 940, Illinois 18 sz Bunn , or a really nice 12 South Bend, what say you all, Thank's Jeffery

Tony DukesJeffrey,
All the watches are great watches. I recommend that you buy one that is in great, great condition.

Jerry KingJeff, all things being equal, buy the one that is your first inclination, the first is always your best bet....

David AbbeI agree with Jerry's advice. You asked a question of a group who has personal collection preferences that would seem to "conflict" only because of our "favorite" brands.
I add one last point . . . of those three if you want a sturdy and accurate "carry watch", get the 940. It is probably the "most bang for the buck".

Sheila GilbertMy first question is, do you have any other watches that are similar to the ones you are considering?
Next, which one is really different than any I own.
Next would be, the one I follow, which one is your "Gut" telling you to buy!
Like Jerry's suggestion. First Inclination.
Last,
Have no guilt in the choice. Once a year is outstanding, so buy the one you REALLY want.
You have many years to do for your family, and once a year deserves a WONDERFUL WATCH.
Then if all else fails, flip a coin!
