Waltham Question
A friend has had this watch for about 35 years but knows nothing about it. Can someone tell me something about it and what it might be worth. It has a 14k gold case and has three colors of gold. The movement is 17j. I am not sure of the size. Maybe a 12 or smaller. The serial number is 6279365.

Thanks for looking,

Joe

The oral history of a watch is often in conflict with the physical evidence. The watch is not 17J it is 7J.

The movement contributes little to the value, These watches have very interesting dials with the multicolor AWCo monogram and usually some additional decoration that is hidden by the cover. Of course, the case on this example is very nice also.

It would be nice to see a picture of the dial with the front open.
