Hello all, This is my first post here on this forum.

My interest is mainly in Hamilton Railroad watches. Some of you may have seen my artwork in the pages of a well known watch and clock collector's bulletin.
I just had a great phone conversation with Lin Riddle and I'm looking forward to visiting with you all.

Thank you all for your kind words.

Rembrandt was Norman Rockwell's hero. Rockwell is my hero and here's another one along those lines:

Mitch, we gotta swing you around to doing something on the Norfolk and Western. That's where MY family worked up until the 1950's...my great grandfather was head steam engine inspector up until he was 'forced' to retire in 1957 (his words. They DID let him work well past retirement age) from the Portsmouth, Ohio yards, and I have a feeling they knew with the last steam engine leaving Portsmouth in 1960-61, his time was up as well.

Anyway, LOVE your work!

HIGH regards! Mark

John, and Mark,

OK, I won't be shy. I don't think I have that in me anyway.

Thaks again and with respect to N&W steam I'd enjoy painting a 611 type of streamline engine on the point of the Powhattan arrow. I'm always available for a commission, and I love tuscan red.

Below is a big version of my avatar.

By the way. My conductor isn't shouting "All aboard." He just noticed on his watch that he just won from a co-worker in the card game in the trainmen's room that the dial is from an old 992 and the watch is an Elinvar. The case is a hunter style with the cover gone and the bow re-worked, and that the whole business has just stopped.

Of course he's yelling. Wouldn't you?

Hummm. I'm just glad we don't have AUDIO with that portrait! Eek Wink

Everyone paints 'J's these days, though I loved that Northern, and have ridden behind the 611.

I'm partial to the OLD power, like this K2 at speed back in the 20's.

Welcome Mitch:

Hamilton's are my first love in collecting railway pocket watches, I particularly like Hamilton, private labels from Canadian watch inspectors. I really like your art work, the Canadian Pacific Railway used lots of Tuscan Red in the steam era, and up into the late 1960s. Their fleet of business cars have all been restored in that color, and are used for special excursions.
